SOUTH OF ENGLAND POMERANIAN CLUB
JUDGING CRITERIA
AS APPROVED BY THE KENNEL CLUB

A1 List:
Persons who have the support of the South of England Pomeranian Club and are already approved by the Kennel Club and have previously awarded Challenge Certificates. (KC Policy)

A2 List:

For people who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list, who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list, and have the support of the South of England Pomeranian Club. (KC Policy)

A3 List: (Breed Specialist)
For those judges who are recommended as being suitable to award Challenge Certificates in the Pomeranian Breed but have not yet been approved by the Kennel Club. 

Requirements include:

a. Minimum of seven years judging experience in the breed and have the
   support of the South of England Pomeranian Club.  (KC Policy)
b. To have judged at least One Breed Club Show.
c. To have judged the breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs  
   with an adequate  geographical spread
d. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes.
e. To have judged a minimum of 110 dogs.
f.  To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and
   passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging
   Procedures. (KC Policy as of 1.7.2001)
g. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on
   Conformation and Movement.  (KC Policy as of 1.7.2001)
h. To have attended a Points of the Dog Assessment conducted by a Kennel
   Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.  (KC Policy as of 1.7.2005)
i. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with
  the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination
  and/or assessment where applicable.  (KC Policy as of 1.7.2001)
j. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained
   their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).

k. To have stewarded at 12 Shows. (KC Policy)


A3 List: (Non Breed Specialists)
For those judges who are recommended as being suitable to award Challenge Certificates in the Pomeranian breed but have not yet been approved by the Kennel Club. 

Requirements include:

a. Minimum of seven years judging experience in any one breed (to include five
   years in this breed) and have the support of the South of England Pomeranian   
   Club. (KC Policy)
b. To have judged at least one Breed Club Show.
c. To have judged the breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs 
    with an adequate geographical spread.
d. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes in this breed.
e. To have judged 110 dogs in this breed.  (KC Policy)
f.  To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed. (KC Policy)
g. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with
    the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination
    and/or assessment where applicable.
h. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs of any breed when
    they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional                 
    circumstances).

B List:
For Judges who have been approved by the South of England Pomeranian Club to judge at shows without CC’s or at Open shows where 4 or more classes are scheduled.  Have been on the South of England Pomeranian Club ‘C’ list until/or to have judged a minimum of 22 dogs in 12 classes at Open, Limit or Championship Shows (without CC’s) and attended an approved educational event on the Pomeranian and passed an assessment where applicable.  In order to be eligible to judge a Pomeranian breed club show a person will have judged a minimum of 50 dogs and 25 classes for a Limit show and at least 30 classes and 75 dogs for an Open show (Pomeranians) at opens shows or championship shows without CC’s.

In addition Non Breed specialists will have a minimum of three years judging any one breed and have the support of the South of England Pomeranian Club.

C List:
For aspirant judges who have displayed an interest in the breed by attendance at club shows or educational events in the breed and active in any breed for a period of three (3) years and who have judged the breed at Open and Limit level but do not qualify for the B list.

Please note: Persons on this (C) list may only judge three classes or less at Open or Limit shows.
